ERIN BORBET (formerly, Hessel), Founder of Grow Wellness Acupuncture, is a licensed practitioner in the fields of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Doula Services. Her practice is currently located at the Berkley Center. With over 10 years of clinical experience in the field, including a 12-month rotation at a TCM hospital in China, Erin has a particular expertise in the treatment of Women’s Health and Prenatal Acupuncture.

Erin completed her four-year Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM), wherein she interned at the following locations: The Initiative For Women With Disabilites at NYU Medical Center and The Manhattan VA Hospital. Erin has also held one-year clinical internships, respectively, at the Berkley Center for Reproductive Health and at the Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Hangzhou, China. She has 2 years experience as an apprentice and in herbal pharmacy management at the China Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Minnesota under Dr. Zuoling Ren.

Prior to securing her Master’s degree, Erin received a Bachelor’s Degree in Complementary Medicine at Long Island University, wherein she traveled extensively studying local healing modalities in Peru, China, Tibet, and Central America. Additionally, Erin is a Certified Yoga Instructor, is a DONA Trained Labor Doula and has three-years experience as a Surgical Assistant in Reproductive Therapy. Erin also serves as a board member for The Complimentary and Alternative Medicine Initiative (CAMI), a non-profit organization bringing sustainable health care to under-served communities around the world. She combines her eclectic background to provide comprehensive and creative healing for her patients. When she is not serving women and their families, she is spending time at home with her husband and daughter.

Erin is accepting new patients for acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition consultations. She is not taking labor doula clients at this time.

Acupuncturist, Grow Wellness Acupuncture

Tuesday is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Board Certified in Chinese Herbal Medicine and is also a DONA trained Labor and Delivery Doula. She holds a Masters of Science in Chinese Medicine from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine with additional training through various internships in the following fields within Chinese Medicine: fertility, prenatal care, postnatal care, menopause, internal medicine, sports medicine, and chronic pain management. While qualified to treat most conditions, her interests are focused towards women’s health concerns.

Tuesday joined the Grow Wellness team in June of 2013. She will be on maternity leave after July 30th, 2014 – return date to be announced.

Office Manager, Grow Wellness Acupuncture

Justine works remotely from our office to help patients with scheduling, common questions, and verifying insurance benefits through phone and email support. She has been with the Grow Wellness team since October 2012. Justine grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and moved to New York City six years ago to work as a freelance writer and alternately spending summers on the Massachusetts coast. She is currently studying acupuncture and herbal medicine at Tri-State College. Please reach out to her today for assistance!

Acupuncturist, Grow Wellness Acupuncture

Mona is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Board Certified in Chinese Herbal Medicine and a DONA Trained Labor Doula. She holds her Masters in Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has received additional training in acupuncture and manual techniques for labor and delivery at her alma mater and at Lutheran Medical Center, where she treats laboring women and individuals recovering from stroke. She also sudies ortho-bionomy, a gentle postural realignment technique, with the Society of Ortho-bionomy. In addition to her training in perinatal health, Mona has also received clinical training in pediatric care, weight management and HIV/AIDS management.
Mona entered healthcare after a long career as a community organizer and popular educator, and joined the Grow Wellness Team in May 2014. She believes that quality healthcare can empower communities.
